Both: the layout setting switches between a single featured review and a strip of several.

Do I need customer photos?

They help, but they're optional. Without a photo, the review still shows stars and name.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Visitors swipe or use the arrows, and the layout adapts to small screens.
